About us

We are looking for someone who will help us take the agency to the next level. This is a senior role within the agency, requiring an individual with real passion, energy, and vision. We are looking for someone who will take the lead on our sales, growth & new business planning for the EMEA region – working closely with the MD, Deputy MD and full management team. This person needs to be able to inspire our clients, bring multiple stakeholders together and lead a team of highly motivated and talented individuals on new business initiatives, pitches and proposals. While this is very much a ‘sales/growth’ role, this person will need to be able to manage, nurture and maintain relationships of senior stakeholders as and when required.

The Role

This is a Full-time position, as “Sales Director” with Neon Agency, with an international remit, reporting directly to the MD & Deputy MD.

 

The main focus of the role, in the first instance, is the growth of new business opportunities, briefs, and RFPs. This is primarily focused on the UK and Ireland. However, we also operate globally, so we may require travel and growth management on an international scale. The priorities of this role revolve around sales and management of the new business pipeline, development of key marketing initiatives and 100% ownership of leading on closing opportunities, pitches and proposals.

 

You will be responsible for managing the new business pipeline for the business, all associated meetings, comms, and growing those client relationships. You will have your own annual targets in line with the overall business targets. You will also very much support the management team in the development of the Neon Agency brand through various social media, PR, brand and marketing activities. As the agency team grows, you will have the opportunity to build your own team across the UK and Ireland.

 

Working hours are flexi time and based on a skeleton structure of 9 am- 5.30 pm, 5 days a week. There will be hours over and above the skeleton structure, but these are considered as part of the deal and no “overtime” is payable. These include proposed networking events, working to prepare proposals/tenders/meeting clients & client management as required.

 

However, we do operate a fair “time off” system for unsociable hours worked.

A strong team attitude is expected, and you will be able to manage executives to support you in your role business pending.

All business activities and information are to remain strictly confidential, as per Neon Agency NDA. All proposals, ideas and content however created remains the property of Neon Agency at all times. You will have monthly and quarterly financial targets that will be reviewed as we progress. You will also have half-year and annual reviews to discuss goals, areas for improvement and targets.

 

We will meet at least once a week to discuss progress and developments.

All agreements in relation to the ongoing financial arrangement between you and Neon Agency are to be put in writing, emailed and responded to.

Key responsibilities

  • Growth of revenue within the business – with a main focus on new clients, and at times existing clients – in line with your client portfolio & annual targets.
  • The management and ownership of the live sales report for the business
  • Detailed weekly reporting to senior management
  • Managing your own new business pipeline with the management team.
  • Managing the overview of the sales & marketing process along with the funnel pipeline for new business.
  • Owning, tracking and reporting on your own financial targets within the business on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.
  • Working with the MD and deputy MD on the overall sales strategy.
  • Developing a SMART sales strategy that will lead to closing new opportunities as they arise – with a priority focus on outbound sales.
  • Taking the lead during the sales process on pitches, proposals and accurate costing of the same – particularly for new business clients.
  • Working closely with senior management on the development of a new marketing plan.
  • Working with the Client Services, Production and Creative teams on the management, development and execution of key business pitches.
  • Supporting the MD & Deputy MD on ongoing management of the Neon brand across social media, online blogs, emails etc
  • From time to time, as required, supporting other teams across the business with the management of events & campaign activities.
  • Keeping up and improving the appearance of the business in a manner that is satisfactory and in line with the brand.
  • Exploration of new revenue streams with the Management Team.
  • The correct and accurate costing of any project that you are responsible for.
  • Keeping a very tight control over expenses directly related to your operation and ensuring that your cost of sales per project is accurate.  

 

Ideal Candidate

  • Proven track record of success in sales leadership roles within the events industry.
  • Strong understanding of event planning, production, and execution processes.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically to solve problems and drive growth.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
